Slow Carb Food List

This is a list of foods for eating on the Slow Carb Diet for The Four Hour Body.

The list is a work-in-progress –  I’ll keep adding items as I come across more SCD allowed items.

Protein

  • Eggs
  • Chicken breast or thigh
  • Beef (preferably grass-fed)
  • Fish
  • Pork
  • Lamb (or any lean game meats should be fine – buffalo, goat, etc.)
  • Legumes -black beans, red beans, pinto beans, soy beans
  • Lentils (or daal)

Vegetables

  • Spinach
  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Asparagus
  • Peas
  • Green beans
  • Zucchini
  • Onions
  • Garlic
  • Peppers
  • Sauerkraut, kimchee

Occasional Items (eat in moderation)

  • Avocado
  • Tomatoes
  • Corn
  • Carrots
  • Chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
  • Nuts and nut butters (make sure there’s no sugar added!)
  • Cream (up to 2 Tbs daily in coffee)
